JOINT MEETINGS: FOR BETTER COORDINATION

We organised joint meetings with
• RC of Boisar-Tarapur on 30th July’08 to provide an opportunity to neighbouring club to listen the eminent speaker from the District Rtn. Shriram Athri.

• RC of Boisar-Tarapur, RC of Dahanu & RC of Manor on 20th Aug to chart out the final draft for the WATER RYLA.

• RC of Boisar-Tarapur, RC of Dahanu & RC of Manor on 20th Aug to felicitate the visiting GSE team.

FAMILY FIRST

For better coordination with our partners in service as well as among our family members we organise joint programmes at regular intervals. Our kids are given opportunities to sharpen their skills.

We organised such an event to celebrate the Navratri Festival a cultural event of KOJAGIRI CELEBRATION on 18th Oct’08 together with Inner Wheel Club of Palghar. Our club is first to greet members and their families on respective birthdays & anniversaries similarly we also greet district dignitaries.


PARTNERS IN SERVICE

• Inner Wheel Club Of Palghar
• Interact Club Of Anand Ashram

2. We adopted Senior Citizen Club comprising of 94 members namely “VATSALYA JYESTHA NAGARIK SANGH”. Today they are a source of inspiration for us and we have done many joint projects with them for the benefit of the community.

3. We are reviving the ROTARACT Club Of Palghar in due course of time.


SALAAM SAINIK: EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME

The youth of our Club together with motivated counterparts of the community went on a unique adventure trail to Kargil on motorbikes between 29th July to 28th Aug’08. The team was leaded by the Director:
Youth & partners Rtn. Amit Patil himself with three other Rotarians in the team. The team comprised of 14 youngsters who went on to greet and salute our soldiers, guarding our National boundaries.
They carried letters of appreciation from the fellow countrymen from the District and snacks offered by the Indian families to the Jawans and hand over to the soldiers. It was a lifetime experience for the Salaam Sainik team.

WATER RYLA: WATER MATTERS

Our Club in association with 20 other Clubs from our District organised a thematic RYLA in the name of WATER RYLA between 22nd Aug’08 to 24 Aug’08. 150 students from the different parts of the District attended the RYLA.
They were given different assignments which included field work like construction of check dam etc and preparation of PowerPoint presentations which they did with perfection. Many district dignitaries including of District Governor Rtn. Banshi Dhurandhar and IPDG Rtn. Ulhas Kolhatkar, PDG Rtn. Kumar Kewalramani attended the RYLA and boosted the morale of the young enthusiastic students.
Past President Rtn. Sudhir Dandekar was the co-convenor for this RYLA. It was also a good PR exercise for our Club as the project was well reported in our Club Bulletin, the Gr8 Mail, Rotary News, online site WASRAG of RI and the Rotary International website.

MEDICAL PROJECTS

1. We organised blood check up camps on 10th Dec’08 at various places.

2. We organised Osteoporosis & ENT check-up camp in association with our adopted senior citizen club on 11th Dec’08.

3. We organised Eye check-up camp during road safety week at S. T. Depot for all the drivers and their other employees on 10th Jan’09.


INDEPENDANCE DAY

We celebrated Independence Day at our adopted school at Devkhop and distributed material to students. 8 Rotarians attended the function and took active part in distribution of food packets, note-books and pencil boxes to the students. We thanked the school staff for their cooperation and promised to do many more projects in the school for the benefit of the students.

PROJECTS FOR THE COMMUNITY

1. We organised distribution of Railway time tables on commuter’s day in ROSE Festival Week.

2. Save water & electricity posters were distributed in housing societies and rain water harvesting was exhibited at Rtn. Sudhir Dandekar’s residence on water management day in ROSE festival week.

3. We distributed picture dictionary books at Annual Parents Day function at Anand Ashram Convent on 14th Dec.

DISTRICT EVENT
We co-hosted Rotary Aqua-2008, an International Water Conference on 19th Oct’08.
